Registrar systems upgrade - Maximise your benefit
On 11 June 2007 we will release a major upgrade to a number of our registrar systems. We emailed you last month to let you know what you needed to do before the launch date to ensure maximum benefit and minimum disruption - some of which needs to be completed by 9am Tuesday 29 May.
We are now getting close to the launch date so time is running out…
* The ‘registrant email’ field will become mandatory for all new registrations as from Monday 11 June 2007 - please ensure your systems are set up for this or you will be unable to make new registrations.
* If you wish to make the most of the new data structure and automaton changes you will need to activate certain functions and tidy up your registrant data - this needs to be completed before 9am on Tuesday 29 May 2007. Please visit the registrar systems section of our web site for details. If you don’t do this now, you will have to manually select and merge domain accounts on the new system.

It is important that you complete this data cleansing exercise before 29 May. Any bulk update commands sent to the automaton after this date will cause your account merging process to fail as we will be part way through our data restructuring and import process.
Additionally please be aware that the automaton bulk update command will be completely disabled from 8am Thursday 7 June 2007. The bulk list command will not be affected. The automaton will be back up with all the additional functionality the upgrade delivers as soon as possible on Sunday 10 June 2007. Please look out for further detailed downtime announcements by email and on our web site.
What does the upgrade include?
* A significant restructuring of all database systems that underpin our registry support services.
* New Online Services functionality.
* New automaton templates and commands.
