A lot of this depends on your host and their restrictions. Some offer audio/video streaming with their packages, others try to shy away from it in order to conserve resources. I’d recommend just asking your hosting provider what their policy is, and whether it’s included with your hosting plan or not. I don’t imagine you’d have too much of an issue… but each host is unique.

Pretty much all of them that are doing it now, were not doing it before. It’s a marketing trend that I don’t really see coming to an end anytime real soon. I can’t say what specific company started it, I’m not omniscient, unfortunately.

Dreamhost started it all if i am not mistaken!

I would check out Hyperspin. I would get something that tests from multiple geographic points.

Also, host-tracker.com is pretty nice, I like them when it comes to there network.

Well, she might make a movie clip with a vibrator, so let’s call that medium-core. Right now she is on freeservers.com, not much on the site…but I have seen freeservers — as well as a bunch of others — kick people who put adult content on their site; so that is why I am looking for an adult hosting provider for them.

If you were happy with what 1and1 offered, why did you even bother to switch?

Yes, HostGator has better reviews than 1and1. Loads of users think 1and1 is a terrible host when you search these forums. However, doesn’t mean you will get what other users said, especially if you are on different plans, servers, etc…

VB isn’t mean’t to be ran on shared hosting environments, unless they are very small and even then most users choose VPS or higher. Maybe you should do the same.

If you are experiencing 404 errors, means files are missing, every try deleting them and uploading again? Or contacting VB since it is THEIR software.

If you are running half dozen sites and VB forum, why not stop looking for massive oversellers and look for quality shared hosting or VPS?

Add an A name to your DNS configuration

“*.yourdomain.com.” (the trailing period is important) and point it to your web server’s IP address. This way ANY subdomain that is not specified in the DNS will all go to the root home page.

Edit: I see you have to call your host for any DNS changes - I guess you are relying on them for this. Call them up and tell them what you want it to do and they *should* be able to do it for you - if not… I’d ask why not at the least.

I had live HDD problem twice. They were said ‘hdd is corrupted and data recovery isn’t possible’. After two or three days (today) i live same problem again. I can’t write to data on my backup partition at same point. At least fsck verify my doubt. I think they didn’t replace the hdd. Btw i’m losing time of course. Luckily, my all data was backupped on other vps (approx. 20gb).

Now, i’m waiting leaseweb support’s answer (for 3 hours). Probably i’ll live same things again.

IMHO switching to new host will not affect your Google ranking.
What I will suggest you to ensure following things before switching to any new host :
* Ensure that the new web hosting plan you’ve chosen offers you the enough storage space to handle all of your current website storage requirements.
* Does your new web hosting plan offer you the same amount of email accounts, auto responders and mail forwards that you presently use?
* If you are making use of any scripts on your site, ensure that your new web hosting company supports all your scripts.
* Do you know how to properly upload your site files & data to the new server? If you don’t know perfectly, you’ll need to find out if your new web host’s technical support staff will upload your files for you. Some of them apply charges for doing so.
* Find out if your new hosting plan delivers you the same or more bandwidth that your current host provides. Don’t compromise in bandwidth or you may face problems.
