Bionhosting.com - whats your review for this company?

Monday, March 10th, 2008

My senses tell me there is something fishy… with Bionhosting.com … besides all that ‘ION’ing thing that is driving me a bit insane.

Maybe they are solid,

Up to 2013? hmm, they started last year so there hasn’t been many reviews, you could try them out

They mention refund, but it’s not really clear http://www.bionhosting.com/tos.php

HawkHost.com web hosting service review - 1 month

Monday, March 10th, 2008

I’m with HawkHost.com for 1 month. Before that I never registered a domain and never hosted websites out of my PC, I just installed apache+tomcat at home and an university a few times to develop Java web applications. So, consider me as a noob user entering on this world and they having to deal with that.

I decided to register a domain and pay a host, firstly because I was pissed with Yahoo’s SMTP restriction and its POP3 blocking legitimate email at the same time I keep receiving tons of spam everyday. I wanted freedom to choose my email provider and my own domain with as many emails as I wanted.

Since I was not going to use lots of storage (I don’t need thousand of GB for each email either) nor bandwidth, I wanted a service as cheap as possible, with small storange and bandwidth, and still with unlimited email accounts, subdomains and addon domains: since the quantity of subdomains and addon domains doesn’t increase host bugget, I don’t see why to limit them.

LeaseWeb.com review: How good OR Bad they are (IP issue)

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

We are costumers of www.LeaseWeb.com - they have assigned 2 IP address for us. A Month later , when all our sites (20) have the IP They assign us, all the sites are suddnely offline. for no reason. cpanel is online but the sites are off.

It took them 1.5 days ( we are offline, remember) to realize that our IP Address was on a pre-configured server ( Remmber: we alredy owned this address for month) and they have to email to the NEW server owner if they can take the IP. Does this looks ALRIGHT? they ask a NEW server owner, if he is WILLING to give us the ip back. and this takes 1.5 days to do…

So now - my sites are offline. am i the only one who thinks this is mad. i am now need to change 20 + A records and MX records becuase they assigned me an IP and let me use this ip for a over month. now i need to take the blame ( 1.5 days offline + alot of work)
does it seems right?

CoreNetworks.com Service - Review for 12 months

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

With the type of service CoreNetworks.com has been providing me so far, I am compelled to write this review.

Sign Up: As you can see, I’ve been with CoreNetworks for 12 months now. While signing up for their service I’ve had my suspicions since they were selling servers for dirt cheap prices. But I needed a server for testing so I wanted to give it a go. And my suspicions were confirmed. Their sign up form was very simple and to the point. I wanted to see a complicated sign up form with hundreds of configurations where I could make a mistake and later the host could screw me over for choosing the wrong config. Ok, thats fine, whatever. But then, they had the nerve to send me the login information with in 8 hours. I wanted the login information 24-48 hours later like most dedicated providers do, not 8 hours, pfffft….

The Good: Since this is a test server I do a lot of misconfiguration (such as delete /etc and /) and sometimes (as in 3 times so far) it calls for a OS re-install. Russell and Andrew were not helpful at all. They said they were going to charge me a re-install fee and get it done tomorrow morning. Then I get an email later that night, I believe it was 3am, stating my server was re-installed and ready to go. And you know whats worse? They didn’t even charge me for the re-install on my next statement WTF?

VRTServers.net Dedicated Server - Short Review

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I know this is a short time review, but I would really like to let you guys know about VRTServers company, and how things are progressing. Over the past couple days I have been looking for a new dedicated server and my price range was quite low. I came across vrtservers.net and tbh, the prices were too amazing. So, I decided to do some research on them. I searched them up on these forums, and found only complaints about thier services, but also some (very few) good posts about them. I decided to try them out (knowing that if I lost the money, for a month, I would be ok), and paied for the server yesterday. Within one day the server was setup and ready for use.

I logged into ssh, no problems. Checked all the resources, everything good, its exactly what I paied for. I have been running many tests on teh servers network, and all are great atm. The server pings are amazengly very stable and low.

Also, I talked to the support team before I bought this server. The reply time was within 2 hours at max and they were more than happy to answer my questions. As time passes by, I will be posting updates on this server. But for now, I can really recommend vrtservers.net.
